Why nature based therapy works during pregnancy.

Positive Impacts of being in Nature

Being in close relationship with the natural environment is a core value held here at Mothers Nature Psychology (the clue is in the name! Love a play on words 😆).

Academic research has identified some of the benefits of exposure to greenspaces / natural environments during pregnancy, including: positive impacts on foetal growth and higher birth weight; increased memory and attention; and a decreased risk of postpartum depression.

I personally have found that the more time I spend in nature, the better I feel! 🌿 I have a long history with animals and nature, having spent my formative years in a small bush village with 8 horses - exploring and riding in the surrounding bush and national parks. This experience developed in me a deep understanding of the value of nature based experiences to support and balance physical and emotional imbalances, along with getting to understand our own selves better.

I am so excited to be providing psychological support outside of the clinical environment 💖

I would love to hear how being in nature has supported you - whilst pregnant or otherwise ☺️
